Founder Spotlight: James Rose

Meet James Rose, a Scottish entrepreneur with a unique journey. After graduating from Robert Gordon University, James pursued a successful business career before following his passion for the arts. He trained as an actor at The Oxford School of Drama, showcasing his talent in noteworthy stage, TV, and film roles. Notably, he brought the unforgettable character of Simon the Ogre to life in a globally acclaimed commercial, earning the prestigious Silver Lion at the Cannes Lions Festival.

Driven to make a positive impact, James expanded his expertise, becoming an award-winning therapist and well-being consultant. Armed with a Master’s in Psychology from Birbeck, University of London, he founded Cognitive Direction, helping individuals and organizations achieve optimal mental well-being and emotional health.

With a profound understanding of the human experience, James earned an MFA at Raindance Film School. This transformative journey inspired the creation of Tartan Underdog, a film production company passionately dedicated to crafting emotive narratives that inspire, excite, and provoke thought. Our focus extends beyond storytelling to addressing social issues and championing mental health awareness within the creative process.
